Mrs. Ida Marie Mabushi

Managing Director

Mrs. Ida joined DTB in 2009 as Chief Executive Officer with twenty-two years of experience, following which she was appointed as Managing Director of Diamond Trust Bank Burundi; a position she continues to hold to date. She holds a MBA in Business Administration. Prior to joining the bank, Mrs. Ida was a Head of Business Development in Banque Commerciale du Burundi.

Mrs. Aliya Shafiq Jiwani

Director

Mrs. Aliya Shafiq Jiwani was part of the team that implemented DTB Burundi in 2009 and now sits on the Bank’s Board of Directors.

She holds an MBA in Finance from Judge Business School from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.

Aliya’s passion for technology-based Financial Services led her to create the first Fintech Accelerator in Dubai’s International Financial Centre (DIFC), after which she implemented a Digital Wallet aimed at Financial Inclusion in East Africa.

She is driven by innovation that makes financial services relevant and impactful in the lives of their consumers.

Mr. Alkarim Jiwa

Director

Mr. Jiwa was appointed to the board in September 2018. He joined the bank in 1998 and was appointed to the position of Chief Finance Officer in 2001, a position he continues to hold to date. He is also a director of DTB Burundi. Prior to joining the bank, Mr. Jiwa worked for several years with an accountancy and audit firm in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a Fellow of the United Kingdom-based Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.

Mr. Xavier Lucas

Director

Senior goal-driven finance-operations professional with twenty-three years of experience, lived in four countries and three continents and now based in Dubai. Xavier Lucas holds a Master’s Degree in Management Control Accountancy and Financial Management. Especially skilled in the strategic and leadership challenges of finding untapped insights, crafting new strategies and successfully leading change to turn around underperforming businesses.

Mr. Jamaludin Shamji

Director

Mr. Shamji was appointed to the Board in March 2010. He holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Business Administration from Washington State University, U.S.A. and has undertaken courses towards an M.B.A. (Strategic Management) from Drexel University, U.S.A. He is also a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Bankers and a member of the Institute of Directors (Kenya). Mr. Shamji is a prominent businessman based in Kisii and serves as a director of various companies, including DTB Burundi., A. Jiwa Shamji Limited and Sansora Bakers & Confectioners Limited. He has previously served on the Boards of the Aga Khan Health Services, Kenya, the Aga Khan Education Services, Kenya and as Chairman of the Board of Governors of Kisii Special School for the Mentally Handicapped. He has also served as a member of the Kisii County Public Private Partnership Committee, Kisii County Budget & Economic Forum Committee and Board of Directors - Kisii Teaching & Referral Hospital.

Mrs. Nasim Devji

Director

Mrs. Devji joined the DTB Group in 1996 following which she was appointed Group CEO of Diamond Trust Bank in East Africa in 2001. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Bankers, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (Kenya) and an Associate of the Institute of Taxation (United Kingdom). Mrs. Devji is a director of DTB Tanzania, DTB Uganda, DTB Burundi, Jubilee Insurance Burundi, Diamond Trust Insurance Agency Limited and the Nairobi Securities Exchange Limited. She has also previously served as a member of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation.
